How does Kelly demonstrate leadership of community in relation to staff, students and parents?

Staff students and parents have a great respect for Kelly. She is able to make a decision quickly and explain herself well. I would call her brave in the way she speaks to others, she is direct and to the point in a kind and caring manner. She is empathetic but says what needs to be said even when at times the matter may be difficult. Kelly has a great sense of looking from a big picture perspective, but she also notices the work that goes on behind the scenes and is generous with her praise and thanks. Kelly has a great sense of being fair and has a collegial approach to her workplace. She is approachable and maintains confidentiality. I think she is a great leader.

Kelly’s commitment to all aspects of the community was evident. She supported staff, students and parents in all facets of school life. She was present at all school major event, staff meetings, masses, in the staff room at recess and lunch. Kelly is always inclusive of everyone and takes the time to get to know all the staff on a personal level.

Kelly is very visible around the school; in classrooms, prayer, meetings, social events and in the staffroom. She shows enthusiasm, commitment and initiative.

Kelly is inclusive and has the ability to make everyone feel listened to and valued. Her leadership is strong by not over powering. She is open to other people’s ideas and follows through on her commitments.

Kelly values relationships with the community, children and parents. Kelly has supported a student in our class by making regular times for him to share his learning, reading and play games with him.

Her availability is amazing. Her follow up via text/email and her response is excellent. Everyone is made to feel valued and what they bring is valued too.

Kelly has positive, open relationships with good communication with many parents and has supported several parents in our class in relation to family break down or special needs children. Kelly is present in the yard and always greets people in the yard.

Kelly is a ‘doer’ she is very proactive in all that she is involved in. Kelly is willing to spend a lot of time with students and parents.

Professional, follows through with what she says she will do. Works well with both staff, students and parents – good relationships.

Phone call, emails, follow up, checks with teachers, confidential, problem solver.

Makes the hard calls! Even when not popular decisions, contacts parents, ponders on events, constant reflection, seeks clarification.

Kelly is open minded, caring, compassionate and dedicated to support staff, students and parents in education. She demonstrates this by having open lines of communication and consistently follows up on any issues. Kelly is respectful of everyone’s perspectives and is inclusive of everyone’s views. In addition, when thinking about community, Kelly also demonstrates leadership of community by being an active member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church. She provides a great community connection between our school and our local church.

Kelly is approachable and understands perspectives as she is a parent, teacher and has experience of having her own children in education. She is diplomatic and follows up on any issues. When making decisions, Kelly meets with the staff affected and shares her concerns and views. She is open to hearing the thoughts of those concerned and considers the impact changes and decisions may have on individuals. She is respectful of others but has the confidence to explain changes and offer support if needed.
